MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
These are the minimum system requirements for installing Windows 11 on a PC.
If your device does not meet these requirements, you may not be able to install Windows 11 on your device and might want to consider purchasing a new PC.
Your device must be running Windows 10, version 2004 or later, to upgrade.
Free updates will be available through Windows Update in Settings>Update and Security.
Processor | 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC). |
RAM | 4 gigabyte (GB). |
Storage | 64 GB or larger storage device Note: See below under “More information on storage space to keep Windows 11 up-to-date” for more details. |
System firmware | UEFI, Secure Boot capable. Check here for information on how your PC might be able to meet this requirement. |
TPM | Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. Check here for instructions on how your PC might be enabled to meet this requirement. |
Graphics card | Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver. |
Display | High definition (720p) display that is greater than 9” diagonally, 8 bits per colour channel. |
Internet connection and Microsoft account | Windows 11 Home edition requires internet connectivity and a Microsoft account.
Switching a device out of Windows 11 Home in S mode also requires internet connectivity. For all Windows 11 editions, internet access is required to perform updates and to download and take advantage of some features. A Microsoft account is required for some features. |

Windows 11 Powered PLE Custom Built PCs
Need a new PC now? There are some Windows 10 PCs that can upgrade for free when Windows 11 rolls out.
For all eligible new PLE Custom Built PCs purchased after October 5, we are offering the option of a free Windows 11 Upgrade with your Windows 10 PC purchase.
If you would like to take advantage of this, you can add one of the Windows 11 products to your system configuration, by following the simple steps below.
*All PLE Ready To Go Gaming PCs will continue shipping with their respective included Windows 10 installation. Please follow the instructions included with your new Ready To Go Gaming PC to upgrade to Windows 11, if desired.
STEP 1
Navigate to the "Operating System" component on your desired PLE Custom Built PC, and click to edit the component.
STEP 2
Select "Expert Options" at the top of the pop-up panel (because you're an expert, of course) and select your desired Windows 11 option. If there is insufficient Windows 11 stock, you will be offered the option to have your Windows 10 Version upgraded, free of charge.
Windows 11 Powered Notebooks
All current notebook stock contains an installation of Windows 10, however most Windows 10 Notebooks currently being sold will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 from October 5 onwards* .
*For the notebook to be able to upgrade to Windows 11, it must meet the minimum hardware specifications and specific hardware is required for some features. The upgrade rollout plan is still being finalised but is scheduled to begin late in 2021 and continue into 2022. Specific timing will vary by device.
Frequently asked questions about Windows 11
PLE Custom Built PCs can have Windows 11 installed as of October 5th. PLE Ready To Go PCs and Notebooks with Windows 11 pre-installed will be available later this year.
If your accessories worked with Windows 10 and meet the Windows 11 requirements, they should work with Windows 11. If you want to be sure, please check with your accessory manufacturer.

Yes! Windows 10 continues to be a great version of Windows. We have committed to supporting Windows 10 through 14 October 2025.
